Documentary rights optioned
Submitted by Alex on Sat, 2007-06-09 06:21. NewsToday, Doc signed a deal with Motion Picture Production optioning documentary rights to the Planetary Defense book.
MPP made quite a few History Channel specials on UFO-related topics and have also made training films for the military, so this book is right up their alley.
I for one am hoping they exercise the option, as I'd love to see the resulting special.

Unexpected outage
Submitted by Alex on Thu, 2007-05-03 01:20. NewsThis morning, the webserver was unexpectedly down for several hours.
When I went online and checked it, I could not connect, so I went to find out what was up. Simply speaking, the lights were on, but nobody was home. Apparently, the PSU fan went some time in the night and let the power supply overheat. I could barely stand to touch the back panel, it was so hot.
I pulled the old server off the rack and stuffed the hard drive from the newer one into it, and we're back in business. Luckily, the drive didn't get crisped in the process.
Unfortunately, this server is bound to be a bit slower until I can build a new one. Here's hoping I won't have to pull out the tertiary machine.

The Tau Ceti Agenda - update
Submitted by Doc Travis on Mon, 2007-01-01 04:03. NewsTau Ceti has evolved into at least two books. Following the outline that I'd sold to Baen I got to a full book length at about 1/3 to 1/2 the way through it. So I revised the outline to be more than one book. The first book is called One Day On Mars. It actually all happens in one day...on Mars. The entire book literally takes place in about ten hours or so. It is non-stop space navy, Armored Environment Suit Marines, configurable hovertanks and fighting mecha, space fighters, spies, senators, presidents, a mass exodus, and multiple nuclear explosions!
The next book would be The Tau Ceti Agenda. One Day On Mars is done and turned into Baen. I'll start on Tau Ceti in a couple weeks.
